"Resilience" by Cindy Baron

Cindy Baron, a friend of ours, painted this exquisite portrait of a buffalo that she entitled "Resilience".  We were captivated by it, and she kindly allowed us to purchase this beautifully expressed painting.   "Resilience" was juried in to the 27th Annual OPA Exhibit at Steamboat Springs.

We had just come back from a visit to British Columbia, where I was able to capture some images of a Grizzly Bear.  Cindy's painting inspired me to try my hand at a wild animal portrait.  I found the exercise most enjoyable and edifying.  I owe Cindy a debt of gratitude, both for letting us acquire her exceptional painting and inspiring me to try my hand at such a rendition (see "Bearly Awake").

Cindy will be part of a three person show at Spring Bull Gallery this June, opening on the first, with a reception from 5-7 on that Saturday.  She will be exhibiting her art with Jonathan McPhillips and Bill Davidson, both very accomplished artists in their own rights.  Make a date to be in Newport, RI on June 1st and come by for the opening.
